The Greeley Police Department is celebrating Thank a Police Officer Day today, which falls on the third Saturday in September. This day is distinct from Police Week and Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, the latter being established by President John F. Kennedy in 1962.

The Greeley Police Department consists of over 150 sworn officers who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of the community throughout the year. The department expressed gratitude not only to its own officers but also to their law enforcement partners, including deputies and troopers.

Residents are encouraged to show their appreciation by acknowledging officers they encounter throughout the day.
