Maya Angelou's Legacy Celebrated at San Francisco Library

Staff Report / sanfranlocal.org

Maya Angelou's reflections on her life and career are highlighted through a recent event at the San Francisco Public Library, marking her legacy at the age of 75. In celebration of the newly unveiled monument titled "Portrait of a Phenomenal Woman," which was honored on September 19, 2024, the library offers a collection of articles about her life and work.

Residents and visitors can explore this selection of materials for free through the library's digital periodicals. Additionally, a pop-up display featuring articles from the library's print magazine collection is available on the 5th Floor of the Main Library. This initiative encourages the public to engage with Angelou’s influential contributions to literature and civil rights.
